As General Counsel Maurice is responsible for all legal matters within the Interoute Group, including corporate, commercial, regulatory and compliance issues. Maurice also sits on the Interoute Security Committee which provides governance on Interoute’s internal approach to security matters, including cyber security. Maurice is also responsible for establishing and assuring the implementation of Interoute’s Code of Conduct.
Throughout his career Maurice has been responsible for a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters and has lead numerous cross-border transactions including all those of significance in the growth of Interoute from a company with turnover of €18million in 2003 to turnover of €412million in 2013.
Just prior to joining Interoute, Maurice was General Counsel of Bulldog Communications Limited a UK based provider of DSL services.
From 1996-2002, Maurice was Senior Vice President and Deputy General Counsel for the principal operating division of GTS (known as ‘Ebone’) and was retained following the acquisition of GTS by KPN Qwest as KPNQwest’s Head of Legal, Commercial.
Prior to Ebone, Maurice was a Solicitor for Denton Hall (now SNR Dentons).
He passed his Law Society Finals at the University of Glamorgan in 1991 -1992. He attended King’s College, University of London 1988-1991 where he received his Law degree - LLB (Hons).
