SAE 3402 (formerly SAS-70) is an independent, industry recognized, 3rd party assurance ‘best practice’ to assure outsourced managed hosting solutions.
It is the new global standard for assurance reporting on service organizations.
Previously there was 1 attestation standard widely used: SAS70.
However, as of June 2011, SAS 70 is no more, having been replaced by 2 new standards:
- ISAE 3402 internationally,
- SSAE 16 within the US
With the move to ISAE 3402, Interoute is now working towards a Type B assertion report.
- ISAE 3402 Type A report assesses the effectiveness of controls at a specific point in time.
- ISAE 3402 Type B report assesses the effectiveness of controls over a period of time.
ISAE 3402 enables Interoute to demonstrate that our Security standards have been formally evaluated and assessed by an independent 3rd party auditor, and have been confirmed as being appropriate, effective and controlled and that they are continually adhered to.
