Lit Fibre

Virtual Data Centre

Interoute’s lit fibre solution balances the increasing need to be able to provide our customers with rapid delivery of high bandwidth network capability with the flexibility to continue to grow their network with minimum service disruption.

Key solution benefits:

  • Accelerate large network deployment
  • Cost effective flexibility to scale

Lit Fibre Services

Traditionally, when a network provider wishes to deploy a high bandwidth network their options are limited, they can either choose to lease individual multiple wavelengths to connect their sites or invest in fibre and site infrastructure to deploy their own DWDM systems. Whilst the former lacks the ability to scale in a cost effective manner, the timescales of the latter can often prohibitive.

Interoute have developed a product that accelerates the time to market of new large network deployment – especially in regions where our customers own expertise may not be as extensive as within their own region. The key elements that slow down new network deployment are:

  • Company establishment and licensing; setting up the correct entities can be slow, interoute’s lit fibre can be deployed as a service until the relevant licenses are acquired and asset transfer can be achieved.
  • The Search time required to identify and contract with the relevant underlying fibre suppliers, interoute has an extensive relationship with multiple fibre providers and can acquire fibre compliant with a single solution Service Level Agreement.
  • Operations teething troubles by deploying a new network in a new are - interoute already have and extensive on-net filed force and field agreements in place elsewhere and this greatly reduces the time required to staff a region, further, because interoute drive an homogenous approach and bedding in time is greatly reduced or even negated.

Typical users of interoute’s lit fibre service include Incumbent carriers looking for high capacity European networks without the overhead of running them in multiple countries, Global operators looking for a low touch high capacity European network and submarine cable operators looking for high capacity backhaul networks.
