Full control of your network - Interoute Dark Fibre

Our network has been geographically designed as a series of rings with multiple interconnect points between each ring providing the user with flexible design options based on a Ring, Mesh or point-point architecture. Amplifier spacing has been carefully considered to provide the customer with the flexibility to choose from a wide range equipment vendors and technologies and with a view on 40G and 100G standards.  Because the interoute network was deployed as late as 2002, the dark fibre is the largest pan-european deployment of low PMD fibre and as such provides great benefit to customers looking to build networks capable of handling 40Gb and 100Gb services. Further, late deployed fibre has statistically better attenuation figures as it has been less exposed to the rigours of time and ageing.

Co-location

Interoute provide the facilities and expertise needed for the commission and operation of an optical network. Thus, customers can compliment their Dark Fibre with co-location space if required at any of the Interoute PoPs including Traffic Nodes, Amplifier or Regenerator sites across Europe. Customers can choose from footprints, cabinets, cages and private suites. The co-location space provided comes with its own market leading service levels and sites designed to provide a secure, resilient, expandable, controlled environment for the initial and ongoing co-location of customer equipment.

Fibre Management

Interoute deploys an advanced fibre monitoring system based on the Agilent accessFIBER monitoring system across the entire network footprint. The system can automatically locate the exact position of cable breaks and can detect fibre degradation before network faults occur thus ensuring the highest quality of service. All backed by our Network Operations Centre in Prague, this service ensures year round speedier fault detection and reparation

Metro Fibre Footprint

G652 Dark Fibre pairs are also available in a number of metropolitan cities, these fibres connect major business parks to established 3rd party co-location facilities and onto the interoute pan-European network.  Available on both a lease and an IRU basis, interoute's metro fibre proposition is suited for those just looking for simple metro connections right through to those looking to drop traffic on major pan-European deployments.

As one of Europe's foremost network builders, Interoute have a depth of experience and knowledge for both acquiring and building networks in off footprint areas.

  • The most recent of the large pan-European network deployments gives you the most future proof option and it will have the longest life
  • Comprehensive fibre management provides pinpoint details of where faults occur thus speeding up fix times
  • Our ownership from the Duct upwards means you are dealing directly with the maintenance party for the fibre and thus reduces any down-the-line delays.
  • Europe's largest deployment of homogenous fibre simplifies planning and building of overlying network platforms
  • Large Metropolitan Fibre networks provides you with the confidence that end to end services can be provided by one supplier
  • Our ability to build and acquire off footprint network provides you with a one stop shop tailored solution for all your European network requirements.
