VoIP 'useful for large companies'
Experts have highlighted the benefits voice over internet protocol (VoIP) technology can have for larger business, it has been reported.
Although the focus of the communication solution tends to be on its advantages for small firms, a new report from VendorGuru.com suggests it is also useful to big firms, according to TMCnet.com.
The Seven Reasons VoIP Business Service is Ideally Suited for Big Businesses report suggests the volume of telecoms traffic generated by larger companies means they can maximise on the savings the technology offers.
In addition to the cheap cost of communicating, the report also suggests VoIP can be used to connect workers in remote locations, allowing firms with multiple sites to link them cheaply and efficiently.
A final benefit is that VoIP allows employees to switch one phone number between several devices, such as mobile phones, branch offices and home phones, the news provider reports.
Earlier this month, research by World Wide Worx suggested firms across the globe are increasingly implementing VoIP technology into their operations, due to incentives such as cost cutting and worker flexibility.
