Market infrastructure technology as solutions, urges IDC
European firms investing in VoIP technologies are more likely to do so in security and infrastructure, new analysis suggests.
According to IDC's European Vertical Markets team's analysis of its European Vertical Market survey, there is a strong connection between the three areas and an increasing number of firms have or are planning to invest in these different infrastructure areas.
Giuliana Folco, research vice president of the market analyst's European Industry Solutions, said: "Vendors should market infrastructure technologies as solutions, emphasizing the specific needs that they can help to address, such as compliance requirements, cost savings, and flexibility."
The team's analysis found the availability of products in the iSCSI area should strengthen the shift from DAS to networked storage as it ensures lower costs and simpler maintenance compared to other area network technologies.
Meanwhile, the analyst revealed last week that internet advertising is set to soar dramatically, according to the IDC Digital Marketplace Model and Forecast project.
