Internet savvy bankers opt for secure banking
Customers are choosing UK banks that offer secure online banking, according to a new report.
The figures have revealed that one-third of internet users in the UK use online banking.
Statistics from the Comscore report show that nearly 11 million people accessed at least one banking service online in January 2008.
More than a quarter of these online bankers used services were offered by the Royal Bank of Scotland and Natwest which it owns, making it the most popular online bank ahead of Lloyds TSB, who came in second place.
PC Pro reported that the most popular banks "correlate closely" with the most secure banks in its recent Online Banking Exposed feature.
Meanwhile, a new report published by the BBC has suggested that online fraud in the UK was a bigger problem than first thought.
It found that if failed attempts had been successful the total amount stolen would have been £500 million in 2007, instead of the £290.5 million reported.
