Gartner takes nominations for MDM award

Organisations are being invited to nominate themselves for Gartner's inaugural Master Data Management (MDM) Excellence award.

The market researcher will receive submissions for its seven categories up until September 5th when a team of its analysts will evaluate and select three finalists based on its MDM strategic framework of probability of success.

Categories for the award are Vision, Strategy, Governance, Organisation, Processes, Technology Infrastructure, and Metrics and Performance.

John Radcliffe, research vice president and co-chair of the summit, said MDM programmes must to business driven and holistic in nature.

"The MDM Excellence Award honours the company that has shown leadership in ensuring that their MDM initiatives are approached with consistency, simplification, uniformity of process, analysis and communication," he added.

Finalists will be selected by October 1st and each will be asked to present at the Gartner master Data Management Summit in Chicago, which runs from November 17th to 19th.

The analyst claims to be an indispensable partner to 60,000 clients in 10,000 organisations and was founded in 1979.
