Gareth Williams became CEO of Interoute in August 2007. Prior to that he served as President, Global Markets, building the sales and marketing unit of Interoute across the world. He joined Interoute to aid with the restructuring of the company in 2002 and has helped manage the transition of the Company from loss making start-up to profitable communications technology leader. He has reinvested the cash the Company has generated to strengthen Interoute’s position and has expanded the business through a number of strategic acquisitions. The largest of these was the acquisition of Easynet’s global managed services business in 2015. Under his leadership Interoute has grown into an award winning provider of Cloud Computing, Network Infrastructure and Unified Communications. It’s customers across the world, range from national and international enterprises to global telecoms and mobile operators, governments and Internet giants.
Before joining Interoute, Gareth held senior positions in the telecoms and IT services sector, ranging from high-tech start-up to major telco joint ventures. Gareth spent the first 13 years of his career in British Telecom and played a part in the globalisation of telecommunications. He has lived in the USA and Europe managing national, regional and global business units. He is married and has 4 children.
